Karen Seel, Board Member

Karen Seel served on the Pinellas County Commission from 1999-2022, making her the longest-serving woman in the Commission’s history. The first-generation native Floridian followed in her father’s footsteps into politics; he was architect Don Williams, who served four terms on the Clearwater City Commission.

As a county commissioner, Karen worked relentlessly to obtain the funding for much-needed improvements on U.S. 19. She has been a longtime advocate for Creative Pinellas. In 2016, she helped the organization gain support from the board of commissioners, resulting in unanimous approval for a new funding agreement.
