rose (she/they) is a Cubana-Americana dedicated to building a loving, inclusive, and beloved community. Born and raised in Key West, Florida, she now calls St. Pete home. A storyteller at heart, she is a multi-medium creative exploring storytelling through poetry, visual art, and art journaling. Her work centers on emotions, human rights, identity, and discovering wonder in the everyday. They hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from FSU where they first dissected language in both creative and academic realms. They are about to embark on a journey to pursue an MFA in poetry at USF Tampa. rose is a co-creator of Collect Ur Thoughts, an art journaling curriculum focused on mental health and self-expression. Passionate about creating vulnerable spaces where art fosters authenticity, empathy, and community, they proudly embrace their Latine, Queer, and radical brain. She is committed to dreaming and co-creating a world where everyone is celebrated for who they are and has access to a safe, joyful, creative, and liberated existence.
